Overview

[BORRADOR v1 — pendiente de revisión] A Look at the Sea is a mixed-reality experience built for the Conservation Interpretation Center in A Illa de Arousa, a Galician island with a centuries-long canning and fishing tradition. Using Microsoft HoloLens, visitors walk through the old cannery while holographic characters and layers of historical information appear over the real space, turning a guided tour into an interactive encounter with the island's maritime past. Commissioned by the Council of A Illa de Arousa, the project set out to keep the memory of the local canning industry alive for residents and visitors alike, pairing real-time interaction with storytelling grounded in the island's actual social and economic history. The experience was covered by regional press as an early, ambitious use of mixed reality in cultural heritage in Galicia.
